Weather
Remember to dress in layers and be prepared for all kinds of weather; add warm clothing including sweatshirt, cap and gloves, if the weather is expected to be cold. Check the weather where you will be camping, not where you live. Do not assume it will be the same. The key to an enjoyable camping trip is staying warm.
The key to staying warm is staying dry. The key to staying dry is having the right amount of the proper clothing, packing it in plastic bags inside your pack, and dressing in layers.
