APPLES AND BANAYNAYS!

On the bottom of this page are the requirements for the Lion cubs to earn their bobcat patch. This award is required for your son to enter the tiger rank and start his path on becoming a boy scout. Parents, please download the guide for child abuse and complete the activities with your son, as this is the eighth and final requirement for the bobcat patch.

The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America is provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. The Lion Program offers an age –appropriate introduction to Cub Scouting which fosters the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America in kindergarten aged boys and serves as a bridge to the traditional Cub Scout program.

Learning for Life is a classroom-based subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America. The Lion program had been adapted from the age –appropriate activities of the Learning for Life program. Its activities promote the fundamental ideals of the Boy Scouts of America in the Pack environment rather than in the classroom. Program specifics are available in the Hudson Valley Council Lion Cub Handbook. Each unit will receive one after official registration of the unit is complete.
